Nursing Homes

This ministry involves visiting the long term care and retirement homes, McCormick Home, Ashwood Manor, and Longworth Village, to support the residents with their prayer and their presence.  They appreciate the opportunity to journey with the elderly and share in their courage, strength and faith.  There are many roles within this ministry that include visiting and praying with people, bringing Holy Communion to those who request it, assisting with preparation and set up for Mass and helping people to and from Mass.  Mass is held at each location once a month.  They are always happy to welcome new members to this ministry and orientation, guidance and support are offered.

On the 3rd Monday of each month, from 9:30am to 11:30am, a group of volunteers connects with residents at Longworth Village in the shared prayer of the Rosary.  They help transfer residents to and from the Chapel, share in social time with refreshments, and lead the Rosary with music, prayers and reflections on each mystery of the Rosary.  During Advent and Lent they meet every Monday.  They are open to new members and hope to start a similar ministry for McCormick Home.

Please contact Mary-Catherine Bishop if you are interested in helping with this ministry.
