Sacraments

The Sacraments of the Church continue God’s work of salvation in our present day.  The sacraments are visible signs of the invisible reality of God and his great love for us all.  These signs of grace were instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church.  Each sacramental event offers us an encounter with Christ leading us to the Father in the Spirit, in the context of the community of believers.  In that experience of faith and grace, we share a deeper, loving union with the Lord and the community.

The sacraments of initiation-Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist lay the foundations of the Christian life.  In Baptism the faithful are freed from sin and incorporated into the life of Christ.  Sealed and strengthened with the Spirit to become a more complete image of the Lord through Confirmation, we then come to the table to be nourished by Christ’s body and blood, the food of eternal life.  It is through the sacraments of initiation that bring us to Christ’s full stature and enable us to carry out the mission of Christ in the Church and the world.

The parish provides preparation for all those desiring to receive the sacraments for the first time.
