Sacraments

Holy Orders

The Sacrament of Holy Orders (deacon, priest, bishop) is the sacrament in which a man is configured to Christ Himself at the core of his being.  Entrance into formation for this sacrament follows a period of discernment in response to a calling from God.  No one can demand this sacrament; it is not simply a 'rite of passage' or an entitlement following an education.  If you would like more information on either the permanent diaconate or the sacramental priesthood, please contact the diocesan vocations office .
