Pastoral Plan

Goal 1: As living signs of Christ’s presence, we will respond to the call to personal holiness given to all by committing ourselves to opportunities for ongoing conversion and spiritual renewal.

Parish Objectives

  • In response to Pope Francis' message: "Take the Gospel, the one you carry with you. Remember that you should always carry a little Gospel with you; in your pocket, purse, always the one you have at home. Carry the Gospel:, we will have ongoing bible studies for the parishioners
  • Form a Rosary and Chaplet prayer group that will meet Tuesdays from 6:00 - 6:30pm. The Rosary will be said on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday and the Divine Mercy Chaplet will be said on eh 2nd and the 4th.

Goal 2: Called by Christ, we will evangelize through the clear proclamation of the Gospel and the constant teaching of the Catholic faith, assuring that such proclamation and teaching is linked to the life experience of the people.

Parish Objectives

  • Educating and catechizing youth and socializing in a faith-filled environment
  • In an effort to further the New Evangelization, we endeavor to catechize our parishioners through adult faith formation.
  • In the spirit of Saint John Paul II, we will promote the New Evangelization through sports and physical activity

Goal 3: With out sights set on the mission of Jesus, we will minister with justice and compassion to the wounded, the searching, the entrapped and those in material and spiritual need.

Parish Objectives

  • To form a charter from the existing former St. Peter's Church to encourage and develop the continuation of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Other charities also include: Pregnancy Crisis Centre, Refugee sponsorship, St. Joseph's Hospice, Bordo Orphanage in Poland and other relief services. To assist human resources that are already strained by those who are currently assisting in this humanitarian effort.
  • Outreach to the homebound parishioners and shut-ins of our parish
  • Encouraging the youth to become involved in the parish community

Goal 4: As the Body of Christ, formed by word and sacrament, we will make provision for meaningful liturgical celebrations in our parish communities to ensure full, conscious and active participation by all.

Parish Objectives

  • To educate and inspire the laity to understand the Sacred Liturgy and to become more involved in this initiative. To incorporate the full and active participation of the lay faithful in accordance with the Second Vatican Council document, "Sacrosanctum Concilium"
  • The enhancement of the liturgy though sacred music in the form of schola cantorum will be established and to provide resources to help parishioners perform in the role of cantor.
  • Participation by laity in workshops on sacred liturgy offered by the Diocese of London.

Goal 5: Inviting all to co-responsible ministry, we will encourage and support the ongoing formation of laity, religious and ordained.

Parish Objectives

  • To cultivate and support parishioners in their gifts to forma the body of Christ (Church)
  • We are called to participate in the universal priesthood of Jesus Christ through our baptism and so endeavor to cultivate this dignity amount our parishioners.

Goal 6: Imitating Christ the servant-leader, we will employ and model governance practices at all levels that seek to: meet the needs of God’s people, support the Church’s mission, ensure appropriate participation in decision-making by the laity, religious and ordained, uphold Gospel stewardship, and promote accountability and transparency.

Parish Objectives

  • To follow the model of governance according to the Diocesan mission in reciprocity with the laity.
  • Through our goals and charitable groups, we will imitate Christ's leadership in service to those in need as well as the disenfranchised.
