Diocesan Data Management System

March 27, 2015

Dear Users of Our Parish Family,

On May 1, 2014, I issued a letter indicating that OPF is to be retired.

In that letter, I stated that DDMS (Diocesan Data Management System) will be replacing OPF in the Diocese of London, beginning in the summer of 2014. I also stated the OPF would be retired within the next 12-18 months, and support would be discontinued.

Though my intentions for the timing of the implementation were sincere, reality dictated otherwise.

DDMS roll out in the Diocese of the London started in January 2015. The goal is to implement DDMS within the diocese by the end of 2015.

Given what has happened since May 1, 2014, here is an update on OPF:

·         OPF will be retired at the end of 2016.

·         OPF will continue to function for as long as you wish to use the program.

·         OPF support will be available until June 30 2017, for those that continue to use the program. It is my expectation that in the 24 months between now and June 2017, that most parishes will replace OPF with another program.

DDMS is an option for parishes that are currently using OPF. In the coming weeks, additional information about DDMS will be posted to the website www.dol.ca. Click on the link DDMS (beside the ISS Support link at the bottom of the page).

I thank the many people that have already made inquiries about DDMS. My apologies to those who did not get a response from me, and to those who are waiting for additional information.

With DDMS information now being posted to the website and an email specific to the DDMS project, DDMSinfo@dol.ca , I will be able to track and respond to inquiries in a timely fashion.

I wish you a holy Easter season. May the glory and the promises of Jesus’ resurrection bring you and your family peace, joy and hope.

Sincerely,

Rob Schonberger

Director of Information System Services

Diocese of London, Ontario.
